2012 - The Year In Review

Hi everyone.  Yes it has been a very long time since we used this blog to post pictures of Charlie & Gracie.  With the family move late 2011, between the packing and unpacking over six months,  Daddy kind of got out of the habit of putting photos up for all to see.

But here we are, early in 2013, and we're back!  One post with a year's worth of photos that show the four seasons and all the changes Charlie & Gracie went through over the past 12 months.  Lots to scroll through here and at any point, you can double click on a photo and get a full slide show.  Enjoy!

So the year started with Charlie, age 5, losing his first tooth!  There goes the perfect smile for a few years!
Meanwhile Gracie, now 3 years old, is still looking a little like the toddler she was, and a little like the young girl she is becoming.

A January snowfall had the kids racing out to the backyard to make the winter's first snowman.

Now into March, Charlie gets his kicks at Extreme Spring Break soccer camp!

Gracie's Spring Concert at Jr. Kindergarten...all smiles.

And our Spring Break trip to Great Wolf Lodge in Washington State was a highlight of the year.

Daddy coached Charlie's first year of organized baseball.
Charlie gives this one a ride!

Charlie's Ladybug featured at school on the wall of fame!

The kids playroom got a makeover.  The art decal says it all!

Daddy's birthday in April celebrated by Charlie....

...and Gracie!

Why it's fruit art...of course!

Charlie's Kindergarten class celebrated Winnie the Pooh.  Charlie is dressed up as Christopher Robin.

Canada Day in Fort Langley.  Lots of activities for Canada's Birthday.

Did you hear that DinoTown came to town this July?  It was dino myte!

Some of the best summer days were the ones we just stayed home.

In August, Charlie and Gracie were asked to be Ring Bearer and Flower Girl in our friend's Charleen and Stefan's wedding.  What a joy it was to watch both kids perform their roles so well.

Stealing camera time from the bride and groom!

Mommy's girl.

How sweet.
One of the great memories of the year was Charlie and Daddy and Uncle Doug sneaking back to Ontario to surprise Nannie on her 80th birthday.

Good thing I wasn't holding up 80 candles eh Nannie?
A Toronto landmark.  The CN Stick.
Charlie's first Major League baseball game.  Hey Dad, that's Brett Lawrie on 3rd Base!
A rite of fatherhood.  Cross this one off Daddy's bucket list.
It was fun catchin' up with cousins while in Ontario.  Sharing a ride with Sam and Jam.

And a story from Kyle.

Meanwhile, back in BC, Gracie and Mommy were cooking up something for the boy's return.  (Check out the shoes!)

The family reunited headed to Golden Ears for our first ever camping trip.  There were many great memories in a short trip - including the most awesome lightning storm overnight on our first night in a tent together!

Peek a boo.

Hey Gracie, pass the marshmallows!

Go ahead, make my day!

And just like that, summer holidays were over and it was back to school for both Charlie and Gracie.

September means Uncle Joey's birthday.

Gracie dishing up the ice cream and birthday cake.

We remembered Aunti Katy in September with Mommy who joined thousands in the Run for a Cure.  We were sure proud of Mom who made it all the way and raised $2,350 towards the cause!

We love October in our family.  Gracie's birthday, Mom & Dads's anniversary, and Charlie's birthday all within 23 days.
First we celebrated Gracie's 4th Birthday.
So easy to love!
Friends Lego.  Finally Gracie has Lego of her own.

Quiet family night on Gracie's birthday night..the party is still a few days away.
Did we mention Nannie came out to visit for the birthdays?  Out for lunch with Doug and Luc,  Dan and Justine.
Here is a little hint for the theme of this year's combined birthday party for both Charlie and Gracie.

Is that really Billy Blazes?
 The girl's table.
 The boy's table.

Some fun with Daddy after school  on Charlie's calendar 6th Birthday.
Check these out Uncle Joey.
Count all thoses candles!
A beautiful fall day, not many of these ones left.

Another month, another missing tooth!
Fast forward to late November, and our annual excursion out to Al's tree farm to cut down our Christmas tree.  Charlie found the "perfect" Charlie Brown tree!

That one is a keeper Mom.

Charlie looking positively angelic at the annual school Christmas concert.

Having fun on our Christmas photo shoot!

Okay Daddy, you are looking seriously creepy in this shot!

What is this?  A kissing movie?

Christmas Eve Candlelight Service at church.

Checking out the unopened presents on Christmas Eve, back home after church.  One more sleep!

Christmas morning, unwrapped.
Rocking the Kid's table at Christmas dinner!
After Christmas, up the mountain in search of snow.  We found lots!

Yes "Charlie", we see who the toboggan area is named after!

So great to have Papa home for Christmas!
Post Christmas cuddle.
A new game to share.

Grama and her princess.

The year of pictures started with the loss of Charlie's 1st tooth.  And Charlie's 4th tooth fell out early this January.
And a few days later, Charlie's 5th tooth!  Great big smile to wish you all a Happy New Year!

Thanks for taking the time to view this blog post.  It truly represents the year that was through the eyes of Charlie & Gracie.

From our family to yours....we wish you a blessed 2013!
